Are you passionate about developing advanced organic/polymeric materials for electrochemical technologies? We are recruiting several postdocs, PhD students, and visiting students to join the team. Our research is highly collaborative and interdisciplinary, encompassing organic/polymer chemistry, membrane science and engineering, and electrochemistry and electrochemical engineering. You will independently lead one of the synthesis-focused projects within the group while working closely with other members and collaborators. Under bespoke supervision and mentoring, new team members start on defined projects but have a significant amount of freedom to explore, make changes, and follow their own scientific pursuits and passions.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

We seek candidates with general knowledge of polymers or electrochemistry and specific skills in one or more of the following areas:

  • Controlled, living polymerization for the synthesis of polymers with complex architectures, such as block, star, and dendritic polymers, and characterization of their microphase separation.
  • Rational design and synthesis of microporous organic materials.
  • Supramolecular chemistry and non-covalent interactions.
  • Ion-exchange membranes: their synthesis, manufacturing, and applications.
  • Redox flow batteries: aqueous organic and other emerging systems.
  • Membrane-electrode assemblies (MEAs) for fuel cells and electrolyzers.

How to Apply

Inquiries are welcome and should be addressed to anqi.wang@kaust.edu.sa with your CV and a brief statement of your research interests and plans.
